Gary Stidham
Director
Originally from west Texas, Gary has served as Director of the Baptist Student Ministry since 2003. He enjoys spending time with people and helping them grow in their faith. He’s also a pretty good ping-pong player…so steer clear if you’re not up to it. Gary has a wife, Teresa, and has two sons, and really enjoys the time he gets to spend with them.

Christi Brazile
Associate Director
Christi has lived in a lot of Texas towns, but she’s been our Associate Director for over six years, now. She’s a graduate of Texas Tech, but is now firmly planted in Mavs land. Christi is a musician and a tri-athelete. She is an expert on healthy eating and mentoring college students to follow Christ.

Joanna Jespersen
International Ministry Coordinator
Joanna joined the BSM staff this summer and coordinates BSM’s programs for UTA’s international students. Você fala português? Then introduce yourself to Joanna. She grew up in Brazil and would love to talk to you! Joanna is married to Ryan who is a pastor of a church in South Dallas.

Doug Petton
Intern
Doug is a recent UTA graduate and hails from Burleson. (No, he doesn’t know Kelly Clarkston.) He is an aspiring photographer, artist, and long-board skater. Doug was involved in the UTA BSM all throughout college and is “giving a year back” serving as an Intern. Doug loves helping younger guys serve Christ and grow in their faith.

Brooke Brandon
Intern
Brooke grew up in Fort Worth and is a proud Texas A&M Aggie. She has spent the last three years living and working in Southeast Asia. Brooke loves sharing the love of Christ with people and helping girls grow in their faith.

Join 200-plus UTA students for a free meal and a short inspirational program.  We are always done by 12:30 so you have plenty of time to get to class or work.  Invite a friend, bring your appetite, and come to Noondays!

Make new friends and learn about other cultures!  Every Thursday we enjoy free pizza, salad, and dessert.  (There are always vegetarian options.)  American students show hospitality to our international friends by doing set up & clean up, and serving the food.  Then, everyone sits together, eats, plays games, and builds friendships.

wideAwake is more than just a Bible study.  First we worship together with the wideAwake band, then gather in smaller groups to learn and grow together.   Joining a small group gives you an opportunity to meet new people and strengthen your faith in God.  Groups study the Bible and discuss how it applies to everyday life.  If you want to grow closer to God and learn how to live an active, effective Christian life, then come to wideAwake!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue
to live in him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith
as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
